Managing the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein of long covid (version 3 updated 28/09/2022)
...with low cost, accessible and freely available natural products
I am not the right person to be developing this resource, as I have no medical training. I am doing so in the absence of such a resource produced by someone better qualified or better able than myself. If you know of an equivalent resource, please let me know.
My interest comes as a result of 13 days of hospitalisation in solitary confinement, for what was diagnosed as covid. This is my story here.
Nature to the rescue
We are seeing increasing numbers of natural products now being touted as able to:
prevent the spike protein from docking at the ACE2 receptors, and so rendering it harmless and
stop it replicating, and destroy it once it has entered the cells.
These natural products are joining, and potentially replacing, ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, where those drugs are not available.
There is one site that has specialised in documenting protocols for all aspects of covid 19 management:
For many of us these protocols are problematic for two principal reasons:
some of the drugs they are advocating are illegal is some countries
many of the drugs they are advocating require medical prescriptions, and there are not enough doctors willing to specialise in covid in order to help those of us with covid, long covid or vaccine injury.
If you can access doctors willing to implement these protocols and if they are legal in your country, you have no need to read on. But if you cannot access the drugs or doctors, then the following article is a start of making alternative information available.
What is the spike protein?
The spike protein is one component of covid-19, and it appears to be the component that is harming health both in the short and long term. It enters human cells via the ACE2 receptor, and once in the cell is self replicating. For many, the human immune system does not seem to be very good either at stopping it from entering the cells, or of getting rid of it once it is inside the cells and replicating. And no-one seems to know how long it can continue self-replicating once it has taken up residence in the cells.
For a short article on the spike protein, what is is and what it does, see the article below.
Why we need to pay attention to the spike protein
It is my personal belief, at this stage, that close to 100% of the population is currently replicating the spike protein in their own blood whether they have had:
covid injections, of which the critical ingredient IS the spike protein
something diagnosed as covid-19 which involves the spike protein
or the spike protein acquired from close proximity to someone who has been injected with the so-called vaccine.
I maintain that, sooner or later, we are all going to have to work out how to stop it in its tracks because it is deadly, maybe not to 100% of the population but certainly a good proportion of the population, whether or not they have accepted the covid injection.
You can see a number of articles on the danger of the spike protein in the writings of the two people below, but note that the articles are complex, seriously scary, and the authors do not help us interpret what they are saying, particularly into potential treatments. Nor do they refer us to others who have suggested protocols. I have pointed out to them that they should not be handing out death sentences without any hope of reprieve. I hope they listen, because there ARE treatments.
Note that there are lots of other issues for the jabbed as distinct from the un-jabbed who acquired covid-19 “naturally”. However, controlling the spike protein is going to matter to us all and should be our first priority.
Note also that this post is only about:
disabling the spike protein, and
stopping it from replicating in the cells.
It is not about healing the damage already done by the spike protein, to one or more of many bodily systems. This is a much larger and more complex topic, and includes a huge range of cardio-vascular, neurological, and lung issues, to mention just a few. As the spike protein appears to damage any bodily system, presumably depending on the weaknesses of each particular person, repairing the body from the damage done is totally individual to each person.
Any treatments have to be safe, available and affordable in Australia
I am in Australia, and any treatment must be available here. I think NZ laws are similar so they will be confronting similar issues.
Any protocol has to be affordable in Australia (where 40% of our population is below the poverty line - which means cannot afford both heating and eating let alone expensive drugs, nutraceuticals and medical fees).
Any protocol ingredients have to be legal and available and without prescription in Australia. (Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin are illegal in Australia, no doctor will write a prescription for either of these and no chemist will fill a prescription, because they will lose their licenses if they do. All the stock and station agents ran out of stock of Invermectin as soon as it became known as a treatment and now the only way to get it is from overseas, via the internet. It is highly likely to get intercepted on entry to the country and confiscated. Even melatonin is illegal here without a prescription.)
Any protocol has to be manageable without medical support as there are simply too few local doctors who know enough or who are willing to support someone through covid or long covid, and the small handful of on-line doctors taking this on are charging too much.
So how do we treat ourselves without medical help?
In the absence of medical specialists willing to help us, we self-medicate with nutraceuticals and herbs.
While I was researching a different topic altogether, I stumbled over information on dandelions being able to stop the spike protein. I have since then worked out how to get large amounts of dandelion into my diet. But if one freely available herb can do this, perhaps so can many. I decided to search my favorite food based supplements to see if any of them rank high on the list of natural covid spike protein treatments. And it turns out there are lots.
So what nutraceuticals and herbs can help us?
[Newly added section in Version 3] Fortunately now, a couple of resources have been published to help guide us with what nutraceuticals and herbs we can use to defeat the spike protein, not protocols as such, but at least somewhere to start. In versions 1 & 2 of this article I documented most of these myself in the absence of anything else. I have now removed my own documentation and given links to the two web pages I have found so far. These have the advantage of identifying what aspect of covid, long covid or the jab, is being treated by what nutraceutical or herb.
I wish I could insert these links with images so that they draw your attention, but please, please, bookmark them and refer to them if you are suffering long covid or vaccine injury issues.
The Functional Medicine Approach to COVID-19: Virus-Specific Nutraceutical and Botanical Agents
For those of you who, like me, cannot afford hundreds of dollars a month on pharmaceutical or neutraceutical protocols, these are mostly low cost and harmless food products and so worth a try.
As neither of these documents gives a protocol as such, you will have to work out for yourself what issue/s you may be addressing and work out your own. You clearly cannot take all of these in large quantities, nor should you. You will need to do your own research to find out which are best suited to you, and one determinant of this is your pre-exisiting conditions. Each of the recommended products has its own healing specialties in addition to its efficacy with the spike protein, so my general advice is pick something that treats something else you are dealing with.
The science behind the nutraceuticals and herbs that can help us
Research on these herbs in relation to covid is in its early days and human trials of their efficacy are rare. However there are some “in vitro” and “in vivo” research projects underway that are affirming that the herbs are able to disable or destroy the spike protein of covid-19 under certain research conditions.
An in vitro study occurs in a controlled environment, such as a test tube or petri dish. In vivo is Latin for “within the living.” It refers to tests, experiments, and procedures that researchers perform in or on a whole living organism, such as a person, laboratory animal, or plant.
In biology and other experimental sciences, an in silico experiment is one performed on computer or via computer simulation.
Below are links to a few research papers on these foods and supplements. They are not definitive and are intended only as a starting point for your own research.
I would suggest you research them all and make a decision on what to use and how to use it based on any other health complications you have, as each of these has its own specialty alongside its ability to disable the spike protein.
Deciding what you need to take
Deciding what you need to take is the hardest part of this process. I cannot recommend protocols including dosage and duration of treatment.

My personal protocol
My personal protocol is still evolving as I learn more, and frankly I am taking far too much “stuff”. I will have to pare it down, but I am not just dealing with the spike. I am dealing with a pre-existing condition (fibromyalgia) for which I was already taking supplements, and also damage done by covid, and doing so with no serious medical assistance.
So here is what I am currently taking, to kill the spike, boost my immune system, protect against recurrence of bacterial pneumonia (golden staph), manage blood sugar (It seems that the spike might cause diabetes, which I was diagnosed with while I was in hospital with covid), heal neuropathy, and manage fibromyalgia. And none of this is intended as advice for anyone else. It is unique to me based on my unique circumstances and physiology.
It has taken me a while to work up to this, so I have no idea yet how much value this protocol will be and if I am anywhere near getting dosages right. I also do not know how long I will need to do all of this for.

Healing from covid damage
As you will see, I am taking a few things that are not specific to the spike protein, but are specific to covid generally or to other issues.
I am taking garlic to ensure I do not experience bacterial pneumonia again, and olive leaf extract to support peripheral neuropathy that may have resulted from either diabetes or covid itself.
Garlic, potent antibacterial
Olive leaf extract, supports neurological healing and resistance to the infection itself. Note that it is effective with the peripheral neuropathy of diabetes, but also there is a peripheral neuropathy emerging with long covid that it also seems to treat. It is one of the “miracle” herbs that seems to treat just about everything.
And what to do if you are sick with a cold or flu now and don’t know where to start.
And if you are sick now, here’s where you can start - an antimicrobial recipe that will help you fight off the cold or flu symptoms and give you the turmeric which should also help you manage the spike protein.
Ah, here we are. This has appeared today.
